Background
Fushun Oil Refinery No.2 is located in NE China. Fushun has
2 medium sized oil refineries both have installed Wap-Flaro for
various reasons.
Ambient temperature is -5°c in winter and 24°c in summer.
Fushun Oil Refinery No.2 has two sites, the North Plant and the South Plant. Wap-Flaro has been installed on both sites.
The North Plant Wap-Flaro generates 400m³/h
The South Plant Wap-Flaro generates 800m³/h
North Plant

Used to chill water in gasoline production platform. This
reduces the need to flare and increases the volume of
production of gasoline with the same feedstock. The chilled water
in circulation also reduces the water volumes used. |

A study was undertaken before installation in 1992 and after commissioning in 1993.

South Plant

The South Plant chilled water is used to cool
down process water for the gas refinery to increase production of
LPG products such as propane and butane. |

Production Economics
In Fushun C4 compound products are used to make high value products such as
ethylene and propylene. Spot price for ethylene in the UK in today's market is $500p/t.
Increase in production by 78.13t/d x $500p/t = $39,064p/d.
$1,171,920p/m or $14,063,040p/yr.
Please note some C4 compounds may be used for lower value products such as propane. It is all dependent on local circumstances.
