The SRJ submerged rotary jet mixer directs powerful
jets of oil that sweep through the sludge on the floor
of the oil storage tank and blends the soluble hydrocarbons
into the total contents.
There are two types of operation:
1. Tank cleaning tool - In this case the SRJ would
be mounted on the shell of the tank for a short period
of time.
2. Permanent installation - Normally positioned in
the centre, except in special circumstances. For example,
in the event there is a centre mounted pipe from the
roof for de-watering, (drainage) purposes, SRJ 's would
be shell mounted. With shell mounted units 2, 3 or
even 4 units may be needed together with interconnecting
pipe work to connect to the pump.
The SRJ submerged rotary jet mixer is used to prevent
sludge accumulations. When installed permanently,
the SRJ can control sludge efficiently, while operating
intermittently. This can vary dependent upon the condition
and characteristics of the oils. The SRJ directs single
or opposed jets of oil horizontally across the tank,
slowly rotating at a programmed rate. This sweeping
action across the tank bottom cuts, re-suspends, and
homogenises the valuable hydrocarbons that normally
would become trapped in the sludge.
Benefits of the SRJ :
- Safe
- Efficient
- Cost Effective
- Reliable
- Permanent
